Establishment
88.9 WynFM was established in 1995 as community radio station to serve the City of Wyndham and surrounding areas.
The station obtained its permanent broadcasting licence in July 2001.
Concept
The concept of WynFM is to provide listeners with an alternative to mainstream radio. WynFM is entirely a volunteer-based project, operated on behalf of, and for, the community.
The studios of WynFM are located on the Victoria University Werribee Campus in the City of Wyndham. The City of Wyndham is the fastest growing of metropolitan Melbourne’s growth corridors and WynFM is committed to establishing itself as a quality radio broadcaster presenting a range of programs that meets the changing needs of our community.

Becoming involved
WYN-FM Community Radio would like to receive feedback from members of the community in regard to our broadcasting service and whether they would like to participate in the operations of the radio station. This includes presenting a program to air, joining a subcommittee or other activities involved with the running of the station.
There are vacancies on the Programming subcommittee, so if you have ideas about future programs, especially in regard to local issues, and would like to be involved, please contact us at wynfm@wynfm.org.au
